March General Meeting

3-14-2013 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

520 Elliot Street Charlotte NC, 28202

March General Meeting
-This months speaker will bring her knowledge of being a start up company in the software arena of “apps”.! With a great professional background to assist in the process of bringing food to the hungry, Bitsy will share her experience.

Bitsy Spencer

-Bitsy Spencer-LaFayette finds that the world is run by 3 things: People, Money, and Technology. Having grown up in a farming community where only women were left in the family, she learned that if something needed doing it was possible to just figure it out and do it-so she never learned that some things aren’t possible. Having started off an art major, she finished with a B.S. in Psychology, then an M.B.A, and later even a yoga teacher certification. Her path has led her to such varied areas as being a Controller and Investment Banker in a small financial firm, to negotiating multi-million dollar purchases of IT hardware, to then switching sides of the table to sell IT services for Microsoft to Fortune 500 customers. Her latest challenge is the initial stages of a non-profit startup here in Charlotte, which is developing a technology to funnel spare change to charities.
