Creative Ownership

Paula Yost grew up on family land in Concord, North Carolina. Her father and grandfather were both employees of Cannon Mills/Pillowtex during her childhood. Paula attended Virginia Tech where she obtained a double degree in English and Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry.

After graduation, Paula enrolled at the Widener University School of Law where she was an active member of the Public Interest Law Alliance. Paula interned at Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in Media, Pennsylvania where she served the needs of abused and neglected children. She also interned at Legal Aid of North Carolina where she obtained experience with domestic violence, divorce, disability, Medicaid, and unemployment cases.

After graduation, Paula became a member of the State Bar of Georgia and a federally registered attorney with United States Patent and Trademark Office. She obtained experience in intellectual property law at a large corporate firm and a small, boutique practice.

Paula realized that the law is not always the best way of helping others and helping others has always been her goal. The law is a powerful tool but it is only helpful within the realm of the law.

Paula currently serves as the chair of the Cabarrus County Child Protection Team, is a member of the Mount Pleasant Lion’s Club, the Concord-Cabarrus Business Professional Women, St. John’s Lutheran Church, and sits on the Board of Directors for three nonprofit organizations:

HUGS: Healing and Understanding of Grief Through Suicide
    Families First in Cabarrus County
    Step UP!.

Paula won the Concord-Cabarrus Young Careerist nomination and went on to win at the state level at the North -Carolina Business and Professional Women’s Young Careerist for 2015.
