June General Meeting

June General Meeting

6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

520 Elliot Street

Charlotte, NC  28202

The INOTC June meeting is close and we at the INOTC want to invite you to take more control of the patent game.

Brian MacDonald will take the INOTC through the process of the new patent system and how to work with your lawyer to get the results which you need.

Dr. Brian MacDonald:

If you want a patent, a patent application must be filed. But what is a patent application and how is it filed? How is it written? If you hire a patent agent or patent attorney to write and file a patent application for you, what are you paying for? What is the work product? Come take a brief tour of the parts of a US patent application. This is not a class to prepare you to write your own patent application. This is just a presentation of what must be done to gain patent-pending status.

Dr. Brian MacDonald is an experienced US patent agent and has written hundreds of patent applications. Brian was a US patent examiner and has also worked for a commercial patent search agency. He can explain the necessary parts of a patent application and how to do some basic searching to find out what technologies related to your ideas are already patented or are the subjects of pending applications.
